Ceramics, Works on Paper, Sculpture

“In a one person show at the Frank Lloyd Gallery from May 8 – June 5, 2004, Peter Shire presents new ceramic and metal sculpture as well as paintings. One large vertical stainless steel sculpture demonstrates Shire’s well-known playful constructivism. The most recent work often combines ceramics and steel. In one group of towering teapots, the metal serves as structure in counterpoint to the organic shapes of peaches. In another group of ceramic teapots, the steel elements are used as fanciful ornamentation. A series of paintings on paper will also be presented. “
